Widley’s father was killed during the earthquake, when a house collapsed on him. He arrived at our mission with terrible skin issues. At night he had to sleep with long sleeves and long pants and under a net to keep mosquitoes away, due to his reactions. Yet thanks to our medical team, Widley, is now able to wear short sleeves and shorts. His self-confidence has grown. A bright, quiet child, Widley makes your heart proud. He loves to wear a super hero costume and a cape!
The goal of the mission is to provide a safe, nurturing environment for Haitian children who do not have one. Children are cared for medically, nutritionally, educationally and spiritually. They are taught in both French and English, with a goal of achieving at least a high school diploma. Christian prayer and guidelines are a part of their daily life, as is a sense of giving back to the mission though work and responsibility.
